Healey Fundraiser Megan Driscoll Resigns From Duxbury's MBTA Communities Working Group
In response to an email asking why she gave false information to the Finance Committee, Megan Driscoll said she has resigned from the group.
Duxbury, May 25, 2025 — Megan Driscoll has resigned from the MBTA Communities Working Group saying that “there is too much hate” and that she was being “harassed” by Duxbury Substack.
The news about her decision to resign came in response to an email asking her for an explanation about why she told the Finance Committee that there are 152 communities that have passed MBTA rezoning. In fact, only 133 have passed rezoning bylaws according to the state’s MBTA Communities website.
Duxbury Substack asked her for a reasonable explanation as to why this should not be considered a lie. She did not provide one.
That email followed the release of a video in which Driscoll insulted State Representative Ken Sweezey and Christine Hill, the author of this article.
In response to the release of that video, Driscoll wrote a note on Duxbury Helping Duxbury (Uncensored) in which she explained her decision to join the group.
I joined the MBTA working group because I did not think that the laws' density requirements would work for Duxbury and wanted to see if there was a way to become compliant, that would not result actual building.
Here’s what the minutes of the February 20, 2025 working group meeting say that Driscoll was concerned with “misinformation” and engaging more residents in the discussion about the law.
She was appointed to the group on March 6, 2025.
Driscoll is not the only one of the MBTA Communities Working Group involved in the an aggressive, misleading campaign to pass the MBTA Communities rezoning bylaw.
Further recordings of recent MBTA Communities Working Group meetings will be released through the weekend.
Driscoll threatened to sue. Duxbury Substack explained to her that she’s a public figure who was serving on a public board and also provided her with information about the state’s anti-SLAPP law. SLAPP stands for Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation. Information about the First Amendment was also provided. She may also want to look at the Commonwealth’s Declaration of Rights.
Truth will set you free.
